Music Publication Partnerships

Throughout its history AAM has been dedicated to providing new music to the church frequently commissioning works to be premiered at Conference liturgies. We have recently partnered with two publishers to expand this work. The Music Publication Committee began reviewing music in 2023 and will periodically issue Calls for Submissions of new choral, organ, and congregational music. There are two ways that music will be considered for publication: in response to a targeted Call for Submission OR through general submissions that will be considered on a bi-annual basis for inclusion in the two AAM series.

Choral and Organ Music

ECS Publishing Group is the corporate parent of music publishers E. C. Schirmer, Galaxy, and MorningStar. The Association of Anglican Musicians Series features new choral and organ music for the Church. The series seeks well constructed music with excellent texts that serves a wide range of liturgical styles and choral abilities. The Music Publication Committee reviews submissions bi-annually.

Call for new music for choir or organ

Composer, Marty Wheeler Burnett, with Mark Lawson, publisher at the 2024 ACDA Regional Conference.

AAM’s Music Publishing Committee will select pieces to be included in a newly-established AAM series, in collaboration with ECS Publishing Group. Details about copyright and royalties will be negotiated directly by the composer with the publisher. Composers do not need to be members of AAM.

To submit a work for general consideration, complete the form on the ECS website. Under “Additional Information”, please indicate an intention to be considered for the “Association of Anglican Musicians Series”.

Hymnody and Congregational Service Music

With a religious publishing heritage dating back to 1918 and headquartered today in New York City, Church Publishing Incorporated is an official publisher of worship materials and resources for The Episcopal Church. The Association of Anglican Musicians Series is a resource available through RiteSong which features new hymnody and congregational service music for the church.

Call for new music for congregational singing

AAM’s Music Publishing Committee will choose music to be included in a newly-established AAM section of RiteSong, the online resource of Church Publishing Incorporated. Composers do not need to be members of AAM. The agreement between composer and Church Publishing will be non-exclusive, should other opportunities to publish your music or texts become available in the future. Individuals may send multiple submissions in the categories of hymnody and congregational service music. Choral settings will not be considered for this series. To submit a work for general consideration, send Sibelius or Finale files, together with a PDF file to Sonya Sutton (submissions@anglicanmusicians.org), Music Committee Chair.
