Christopher Brayne
Christopher Brayne began his musical journey as a chorister at Lichfield Cathedral. He studied at the Royal College of Music where he was organ scholar at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and Cambridge University where he was organ scholar of Emmanuel College. He studied with Gillian Weir and Jean Langlais. Christopher was Assistant Organist at Wells Cathedral and Organist and Master of the Choristers at Bristol Cathedral. Coming to the USA in 2000 he was Director of Music at Christ Church, Charlotte and established a Choral Scholarship programme for young singers at St Johns Lattingtown NY. Currently Christopher is freelance combining work as an accompanist and solo organist with examining for ABRSM. Recent opportunities have included interim Master of the Choristers at St. Paul’s Winston-Salem and touring with Trinity Cathedral Choir, Columbia, SC on their weeks residence at Hereford Cathedral. He is a member of AAM and the Charlotte Chapter of the AGO. Christopher loves travelling and is an avid supporter of Derby County.
